4 weeks/ 1 month old!

Yippee! Can you believe it? Ava's already 4 weeks old and growing like a weed. I swear she must weigh at least 9 1/2 lbs already. As of last Thursday she was already at 9. We go for our one month pediatrician appt. next Thursday and we'll see how much she weighs then. After posting yesterday, Ava was pretty much fussy all afternoon and into the night, which was worse than the night before. I couldn't even go in for decaf coffee at the racetrac last night! She cried as soon as we hit the parking spot. Dang! Oh well. Today, we're keeping our fingers crossed that today's really good rest will help. She actually slept by herself for two hours in the cradle. That's huge! Here's some cute pics to celebrate!

Jeremy at the Centering Pregnancy reunion last ThursdayI love this pic! She's smiling! She likes the dangley toys a lot.
Another one from her first bath.

  1. Hey Gail,

I have a lot of experience with a baby girl not sleeping - just when you think that you've hit the edge of sanity, she'll start sleeping through the night at about three months old.

I do have a question though - does she spit up a lot? Our daughter had acid reflux and would not sleep unless she was being held upright. The vibrating chair, car seat, or being held were the only things that worked. Then we took her to the doctor who put her on prevacid and then she finally slept. Other things to try are tilting the crib with some books so that she sleeps with her head higher than her tummy...

I really thought we were going to go insane before she finally slept through the night. Call us if you think you are going to lose it, I'll let you chat with my wife. Trust me, there are people that understand!
